Paul Greengrass Wants to Forget ‘Bourne 4’

The Playlist reports that director Paul Greengrass (The Bourne Supremacy, The Bourne Ultimatum) has apparently exited the currently in development fourth entry into the Bourne franchise over “creative differences”.

Of course Matt Damon’s involvement must be of everyone’s concern right now, especially knowing that he’s been very loyal to Greengrass. The two just finished wrapping up the expensive Iraq War thriller Green Zone for Universal, and take note – expensive, due to Greengrass’ habit of going back for reshoots.

It’s maybe one of the reasons why he and Universal have had sort of a rough relationship as of late, plus the fact that the studio can’t seem to decide on the script. Writers George Nolfi and Josh Zemuter have written separate screenplays for Bourne 4 and none of the two have gotten the green light.

The Bourne series looks to have a long way to go until it returns to cinemas.
