‘New Moon’ Director Reinvigorated

Fresh off his colossal $140 million opening ($18 million shy of The Dark Knight‘s hopefully indestructible record), director Chris Weitz has been injected with a new lease on life, or so it seems.

Variety reports that The Golden Compass director has confirmed The Gardener as his next flick, and it’s certainly not going to be his last. Despite rumors circulating through the internet about his impending departure from the industry, Weitz reestablishes himself in his latest interview and dispels any doubt of his disillusionment.

He does admit however his discontent with the final creative decisions made by New Line on his previous fantasy endeavor, but was thrilled with the completion of New Moon and the liberty given to him by the producers and author Stephanie Meyer.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon is in theaters now.
